15-Year-Old Teen Dies in Wasilla Vehicle/Pedestrian Collision

trooper road accidentAlaska State Troopers report that a 15-year-old teen was killed in a vehicle/pedestrian accident in Wasilla on Monday afternoon.

According to the trooper dispatch, at 3:05 pm on Monday, they received a call of a motor vehicle collision on Pittman Road near the intersection at Golden Drive. The call also reported that CPR was in progress on a victim of that collision.

When troopers from Wasilla and Palmer responded to the location, their investigation would reveal that a vehicle, driven by Bryon Melton, was traveling southbound on Pittman when it struck the victim, identified as 15-year-old Austin Edenfield, who was “walking south on the southbound shoulder of the road,” the trooper dispatch reported.

Edenfield was pronounced deceased at the scene and his next of kin were notified of his death.

State Medical Examiner personnel also responded to the scene and took possession of Edenfield’s remains and transported them to Anchorage for autopsy.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
