British Officials Believe They Have the Identity of ISIS Beheading Suspect

On NBC’s “Meet the Press,” it was announced by the British Ambassador to the United States, Peter Westmacott, that his country is homing in on the Jihadist who cut off the head of American journalist James Foley.

Saying that through the use of sophisticated voice recognition software, British officials believe they have identified the man responsible for the beheading of Foley as a British rap star turned Jihadist, Abdel-Majed Abddel Bary. They say Bary left his $1 million family home in England to take up the fight in Syria approximately one year ago to fight alongside ISIS militants.

It is reported that Bary is the son of Abdel Abdul Bary, an Egyptian-born Jihadist who was extradited to the U.S. in 2012 to face charges in the bombing of the embassies in Tanzania and Kenya where hundreds of people lost their lives.

Foley was kidnapped in Syria by ISIS members and a video showing his beheading was released by that group last week. Bary, who also calls himself “Jihadi John was also shown in an image on Twitter showing him holding a severed head. Several news sites carried the gruesome images.
