When:            6 to 10 p.m. Friday, June 24

Where:          Anchorage Museum at Rasmuson Center, 625 C St.

Who:              DJ Alex the Lion and DJ Juba, food trucks, open to the public

The Anchorage Museum is celebrating the summer solstice with a silent disco and silent book club.

On the front lawn, two DJs – Alex the Lion and DJ Juba – will compete for listeners who can dance the night away under the late-night sun. The disco is “silent” – only people with headphones will hear the music. Each DJ broadcasts on a different channel. Dancers can switch their headphones between both channels and choose which DJ has the preferred jams at any given moment.

Inside, readers can join the museum’s Silent Book Club in the atrium Living Room. Guests are invited to bring a favorite book or select one from the museum’s microlibrary and read in companionable silence.

Food, beer and wine drink available for purchase from local food trucks and Muse restaurant.

Tickets available online and at the door for $15. Family friendly. If needed due to weather, the dance will move inside.
