Fairbanks Man Arrested on Assault Charges after Returning to the Scene

image23-04-2015 08.08.46A Fairbanks man, identified as 38-year-old Miles Carlson, was arrested on Assault III, Assault IV x2, and Criminal Mischief V charges following an investigation into an assault/criminal mischief call on Tuesday, troopers report.

Troopers received the report from a residence on Chena Pump Road at 7:30 pm on Tuesday, but found that Carlson had fled the scene prior to their arrival. Troopers issued a “12-hour Probable Cause Locate” for Carlson.

The troopers did not have long to wait before Cartlson turned up. At 10:30 pm, the victim reported to troopers that Carlson had returned to the residence. Troopers responded and placed Carlson under arrest.

Troopers reported via trooper dispatch, that during the interview with Carlson, Carlson kicked the trooper in the chest, leading to further charges.

As the investigation continued, it was found that Carlson had been convicted of a prior assault in the previous 10 years.

Also, on-line court records reveal that Carlson had also been convicted of Escape in 1997 as well as Misconduct involving weapons in 2012. In the 2012 case, Carlson had assault charges dropped in a plea agreement.

Carlson is due to be arraigned on the current charges on Wednesday afternoon in the Fairbanks courthouse.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
