Alaska State Troopers announced on Friday that a Fairbanks man has been charged with one count of Murder I, two counts of Murder II and Tampering with Evidence in the case of Fairbanks woman, Jenessa F. Kempski, who was found dead near the community of North Pole on November 2nd, 2014.
A warrant was issued for 29-year-old Fairbanks resident Zachary Whisenhunt following an indictment filed in Fairbanks court charging him in the death of 31-year-old Kempski.
Kemski’s remains were discovered on the 2nd of November and her body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s office in Anchorage for positive identification and cause of death. Her identity was confirmed two days later via fingerprints. She had been last seen on October 23rd, 2014.
Vinelink shows that Whisenhunt is currently being held at the Fairbanks Correctional Center. Online court records show no bail has been set.He is due to be arraigned on charges Friday afternoon.
