State Troopers Arrest Man, Seize Heroin and Meth Bound for Cordova at Anchorage Airport
During a drug investigation, Alaska State troopers from the Western Alaska Alcohol and Narcotics Team stopped a New Mexico man at the Anchorage Airport yesterday.
Officers stopped 21-year-old Enrique Lino as he was waiting to board a flight to Cordova.
The officers informed Lino that he was being detained pending an application for a search warrant.
Hearing this, Lino attempted to bolt from the authorities in an effort to escape. He was frustrated in his attempt however. Lino continued to resist the officers as they successfully detained him.
The application for the warrant was granted and issued for Lino and his baggage.
A search of Lino's luggage produced approximately 2 ounces of Black Tar Heroin and an Ounce and a half of Methamphetamines that Lino was taking to Cordova.
The street value in Anchorage of the seized heroin is about $29,000, and the Meth was valued at $10,000. The street value of the drugs would have been higher in Cordova.
Lino was arrested and transported to the Anchorage Jail were he was remanded and his bail set at $50,000.
