ANCHORAGE, Alaska-An Anchorage grand jury has indicted two people in connection with a home invasion robbery that ended in the death of two people.
On November 10, 2011, a home invasion robbery occurred at the 700 block of Muldoon Road shortly after midnight. Anchorage Police Detectives investigated the robbery and shooting. The investigation disclosed that the robbers burst into the trailer, pistol whipped the resident in the face, and demanded money and drugs. The resident retrieved a handgun, and shot two of the three robbers. The two men died. A third robber ran away. Police identified Brian Albert Pfister as the third robber who escaped, and Ursula Evelyn Roberta Pico as the getaway driver.
On Thursday, December 15th, an Anchorage grand jury returned an indictment against Pfister and Pico. The grand jury indicted Pfister and Pico for Manslaughter, Robbery, Conspiracy to Commit Robbery, and Burglary. The grand jury also indicted Pico for Evidence Tampering for trying to hide the getaway car. The grand jury alleged that Pfister and Pico were criminally responsible for the death of their own accomplices because they agreed together to engage in a home invasion robbery, where gunplay and death or serious injury was reasonably foreseeable.
Pfister and Pico will be arraigned on Monday, December 19th, 2011 at the Anchorage Jail court.
This is an ongoing investigation. Police believe that members of the community may have additional information about this event. Citizens are encouraged to contact Detective Dave Cordie at 786-8679.
