HEADQUARTERS U.S. ARMY ALASKA, JBER – U.S. Army Alaska welcomed home about 125 soldiers from the 109th Transportation Company Dec. 1 at the Buckner Physical Fitness Center here.
The “Muleskinners” of the 109th deployed to Kuwait in March. This deployment was the 109th’s sixth since 2003, but the first to Kuwait. The unit previously deployed three times to Iraq and twice to Afghanistan. In Kuwait, the 109th provided line haul transportation support, driving more than 2 million miles while delivering tons of equipment and supplies around the theater in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.
