Alaska State Troopers report that they, in conjunction with the Fairbanks SDEU, made up of the Fairbanks Police Department, North Pole Police Department, and University of Alaska Fairbanks Police Department, initiated an investigation into heroin distribution in the Fairbanks area on January 5th after receiving a Crime Stoppers tip and seized a substantial amount of heroin in an interior operation.
The anonymous tipster told investigators of the drug activity at a residence off of Sheep Creek Road. The investigation would find that the suspect residing at that location, 47-year-old Gzim Fejzoski, also had three active warrants totaling $7,750 and an active stop and hold requested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
On January 25th, SDEU moved in on the residence and contacted Fejzoski. He was arrested on the active warrants and the stop and hold. During the drug investigation at the location, “Drug Investigators observed needles, spoons, and tinfoil that was consistent with heroin use,” the trooper dispatch reported.
When search warrants were executed, 3.75 ounces of heroin, $4,067 in cash, scales and a loaded Springfield XD .45 caliber pistol were found at the residence. Troopers estimate the street value of the seized heroin to be approximately $42,520.
Troopers report that “I.C.E. was contacted and a Federal Detainer was placed on Fejzoski for failure to comply with his immigration orders.” Fejzoski was remanded on one count of MICS II for the distribution of heroin and one count of Misconduct Involving Weapons II .
The next day, Fairbanks SDEU executed a second search warrant on Fejzoski’s storage unit in Fairbanks. Inside, investigators would locate a further 25.4 grams of suspected heroin. They estimate the value of that seizure at $10,160. The drugs were sent to the State Crime Lab for further testing.
The total street value of the two seizures is thought to be approximately $52,680.
Fejzoski is scheduled for arraignment at 1:30 pm on Thursday.
