Immediately after the incident, police and other bailiffs converged on the scene and Gordon was quickly shot and killed as he attempted to escape the court building.

The courthouse was evacuated during the incident and will remain closed on Tuesday.

Calling her ex-husband her best friend, Jessica Gordon said of Gordon, “He was an amazing man that got mixed up with the wrong people.” She continued saying of Gordon, that he “was probably terrified of having to go to prison and not seeing his family again.”

Authorities reported that Gordon showed “no warning signs” prior to the incident as he was being transferred through the corridors leading to the courtroom.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adversal-468×60″]
