Multiple Burglary/Theft Investigation Nets Two Chugiak Men

credit card theftAlaska State troopers with the Criminal Suppression Unit report that they have identified and arrested two suspects in the investigation into a series of burglaries and thefts of residences in the Matsu Valley and Anchorage areas.

The investigation that was initiated on October 20 has resulted in the arrests of 21-year-old Chugiak resident Wade Williams, and 24-year-old Chugiak resident Jonathan Nesbitt.

Troopers report, via the trooper dispatch, that they identified a total of nine people that were victimized by the two suspects. During the investigation it was found that the suspects purchased approximately $15,000 worth of items using the victims credit cards that were stolen during their criminal enterprise.

On Thursday, Williams was arrested at his residence in Chugiak by troopers, he was taken into custody and transported to the Matsu Pretrial Facility, where he was remanded with his bail set at $50,000.

Nesbitt, who was already incarcerated in the Anchorage jail for an unrelated case, was further held on an additional $50,000 bail.

The two are being held on a myriad of charges that include:

  • Scheme to Defraud
  • Burglary I x6
  • Vehicle Theft I
  • Theft II
  • Criminal Mischief III
  • Theft III
  • Fraudulent use of an Access Device x6

Williams, who is out on bail, is set to be arraigned this morning. Nesbitt goes befrore a judge this morning for a bail review hearing and is due back in court on November 1oth for a Pre-Indictment Hearing.
