Nikiski Man Arrested after Assaulting, Stealing from Woman

Alaska State Troopers responded to the Cabin Lake Road area on Sunday after receiving a request for a welfare check on a woman there made by another female at 8:44 am.

When they responded to the location, they would find that the woman had been assaulted by 52-year-old Eli Wilson Darien on the previous day. After the assault, Darien took approximately $220 from her purse and a bottle of whisky before leaving the premises.

Troopers would contact Darien on Sunday at a residence off of Sunflower in Nikiski and found him “in possession of a flask of whisky, a small amount of marijuana, and a baggie of methamphetamine.”  A check on Darien’s criminal history would find that Darien was on supervised probation for MICS IV, and was ordered not to possess or consume alcohol or controlled substances.

Darien was promptly arrested and transported to the Wildwood Pretrial Facility and remanded there on charges of Assault IV(DV), Theft IV, Domestic Violence, MICS IV and VI, and probation violation. He was held without bail.
