The biggest annual sporting event of the year came to a close yesterday at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona with the New England Patriots being crowned the winners of Superbowl 49. After 10 years of looking, the Patriots took home their fourth Superbowl victory.

Tom Brady also had the added victory of being one of only three quarterbacks to be honored with at least four Superbowl rings. He joins Joe Montana and Terry Bradshaw. Brady  now also enjoys the distinction of being the only quarterback who has thrown 13 touchdown passes in his career.

The game went neck and neck through the first half, then the Seattle Seahawks would gain a 10-point edge over the Patriots going into the fourth quarter. But. it was all downhill for the Seahawks after that. Brady would bring in two touchdowns in the fourth quarter, placing the Patriots in the position to win.

The Seahawks, in their last chance at 2014 Superbowl greatness, took the ball almost to the goal with the long-range juggling catch by Jermaine Kearse after the two-minute warning. Then, in what many Seahawks fans call a bad call, the Seahawks took to the air, passing into the endzone and into the hands of  Patriot Malcolm Butler. Butler dashed any Seahawk hope of winning the crown.

So went the hope of back-to-back wins for the Seahawks.
