It was at 7 am on Sunday that SEACAD (SouthEast Cities Against Drugs) Task Force and K-9 Lutri and Ketchikan-based Alaska State Troopers contacted 23-year-old Brittany Diaz of Bellingham at the Ketchikan Ferry Terminal after she arrived on the ferry from Bellingham.

After an investigation at the scene at the Marine Highway Terminal, Diaz was arrested on charges of Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance IV after she was found to be in possession of Heroin and Methamphetamine.

Diaz was promptly remanded to the Ketchikan Correctional Center.

Just under three hours later, SEACAD and Troopers would contact 39-year-old Jay Campbell of Kentucky at his residence in Ketchikan. It was found that Campbell was a fugitive from Justice from Boone County, Kentucky. He had violated his conditions of felony probation in that state for the original charge of possession of Methamphetamine.

Campbell was arrested, transported and remanded to the Ketchikan Correctional Center.

While processing Campbell into the facility, it was found that he had secreted a strip of Suboxone in his mouth. Campbell was further charged with Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance V and Promoting Contraband I.

Campbell is in jail awaiting extradition.
