Troopers Arrest Aleknagik Man on Triple Criminal Trespass Charges

On Wednesday evening, troopers received a call reporting an intoxicated man in Aleknagik was attempting to break into a residence.

When an on-call trooper responded to the incident call just prior to 7 pm, the trooper found that the suspect had walked away from the scene.

As troopers continued their investigation into the incident, they would talk to multiple residents in the area and find that the suspect had been found “just walking into” their homes as well, the trooper dispatch revealed.

The suspect was contacted near another residence by troopers, and hey would identify him as 28-year-old Wasilly Kyakwok. Subsequently, Kyakwok was arrested and charged with three counts of Criminal Trespass I.

The suspect was transported to Dillingham where he was remanded on the charges. Kyakwok was deemed intoxicated at the time of the incidences as he submitted to a breath sample and was recorded to have a BrAC of .109 at 9 pm..

Aleknagik, with its population of just over 200 is located  16 miles to the northwest of Dillingham. The community is situated on both the north and south banks at the mouth of the Wood River as it empties itself into the Aleknagik Lake.
