Aniak-based troopers are asking the public to be on the look-out for two ill-equipped snow-machiners said to be traveling to Anchorage from St Marys in Southwestern Alaska.

Troopers received a report at 11:45 am on Sunday, that two travelers departed St Marys with their stated destination being the city of Anchorage in South-Central Alaska. They left St Marys at 9 am the previous morning.

The two snow-machiners have been identified as 36-year-old Bernard Afcan and his girlfriend, 18-year-old Chenelle Adams, both of Nunam Iqua. They are reported to be traveling on a black and white Arctic Cat Z1 1000 single seat Turbo. It is believed that the two were seen at a Marshall store at 4:30 pm on Saturday.

According to troopers, Afcan is wearing a green parka and black snow pants, while Adams is reported to be dressed in a camo coat and black snow pants.

The two are reportedly traveling without a sled, do not have extra fuel or any camping gear.
