Two Anchorage men, identified as Maurice Abad Malabed, aka “Moe,” 47, and
David Patrick Christensen, 29, both of Anchorage, were indicted by a federal grand jury in Anchorage on drug trafficking charges, it was reported by the Justice Department on Thursday.

According to the DOJ report, Malabed and Christiansen, were attempting to import at least 50 grams of methamphetamine into Utqiagvik, formerly the North Slope community of Barrow.

According to a December 7th complaint filed in federal court, law enforcement intercepted a package containing four ounces of Methamphetamine coming from California and addressed to Christiansen. The officials then conducted a controlled delivery of the package and arrested Malabed and Christiansen when they took possession of the package outside of Christiansen’s home.[xyz-ihs snippet=”adsense-body-ad”]Investigators stated that between November 29th and December 7th, Malabed had made arrangements to have approximately 135 grams of meth delivered to Anchorage with Christiansen’s help. Investigators believe those drugs were ultimately bound for the North Slope community.

If convicted on the charges, the two men face as much as 40 years in prison and a fine of $5,000,000.

The case was investigated by the DEA, Alaska State Troopers with the Statewide Drug Enforcement Unit and the North Slope Police Department.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
