Victim Treated for Multiple Gunshot Wounds in Saturday Centennial Park Incident

Anchorage police opened an investigation into a shots-fired incident at Centennial Park on Saturday afternoon and 30 minutes into their preliminary investigation, received a report of a shooting victim in the Fred Meyers in the store on DeBarr Road.

The 911 caller from Fred Meyers reported that he had suffered a gunshot wound to the body. When police arrived, the victim was with an adult female that had gone to the store with him. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his non-life-threatening injury.

While the victim was being treated for his gunshot wound, it would be discovered that he also had additional gunshot wounds that he had not reported. He was treated for the additional non-life-threatening wounds.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]The investigation would reveal that a group of met, along with the female, had “met up at the intersection of Starview Drive and Boundary Avenue.” An altercation broke out and the victim was shot during the shots-fired incident. After the incident, the victim and the adult female got into one vehicle, while the remaining men got into another and all parties departed the area.

No suspect or vehicle descriptions in what is deemed an isolated incident were released by police.
