Wasilla 17-Year-Old, Four Passengers Suffer Injuries in Two Vehicle Accident

image28-04-2014 14.44.40Alaska State Troopers report that 17-year-old Wasilla resident, Phillip D Flowerdew, and four passengers were taken to hospitals for treatment of injuries following a late night accident on Fairview Loop on Thursday night.

Troopers responded to the two- vehicle injury accident on Fairview Loop near North Marble Way in Wasilla at 10:30 pm on Thursday. When they arrived, their investigation would reveal that Flowerdew was traveling southbound on East Fairview, when he lost control of his vehicle, a gray 2005 2-door Scion, and crossed the centerline. When he did so, he collided with a brown 2013 Nissan Maxima driven by 47-year-old Wasilla resident, Stacy M Hecker.

All occupants in the Scion were hospitalized with injuries. One passenger was transported to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage and is reported to be in critical but stable condition. The remainder of the occupants of the Sccion were taken to teh Mat-Su regional medical Center for treatment of a variety of injuries. The driver, Phillip Flowerdew, was treated and released. 

None of the occupants of the Nissan were injured in the accident.

Both vehicle were considered totaled in the accident, troopers say, the investigation into the incident is on-going.
