Wasilla Homeowner Blocks Driveway, Thwarts Vehicle Theft

vehicle theftA Wasilla homeowner thwarted the theft of a vehicle from his driveweay on Monday according to the trooper dispatch.

Troopers responded to the scene near mile 4 of Fairview Loop at 7:26 pm on Monday evening to find that the homeowner had blocked his driveway to keep two car thieves from stealing a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am.

The investigation at the scene revealed that “Martin Vandever-age 44 of Wasilla and Alison Hooks-age 32 of Wasilla, were attempting to steal the vehicle when they were caught in the act,” the trooper dispatch reported.

Troopers arrested Vandever and Hooks and charged them with Attempted Vehicle Theft I, Criminal Mischief I and III, Criminal Trespass I, and Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance IV.

Following their arrest, Vandever and Hooks were transported to Palmer and remanded both to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility. Vandever’s bail was set at $3,000 while Hooks was held without bail.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
