Wasilla Man in Jail on Murder Charges after Arson, Stabbing Incident

During the Early morning hours of Monday at 5:20 am, troopers responded to a call reporting injured persons at a residence on Pioneer Peak Drive.

Troopers responded to the scene in Wasilla to find one person deceased from stab wounds and another suffering from life-threatening wounds. The critically injured adult male was transported by EMS  to the Mat-Su Regional Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Found dead at the scene from multiple stab wounds was 66-year-old Wasilla resident Mollie Ragonesi.

The investigation at the scene revealed that 19-year-old Wasilla man, Kenneth Adams, had set fire to his room at the Ragonesi residence then stabbed Ragonesi and an adult man, who name is being withheld, multiple times before being subdued by another man at the residence.

Adams was arrested, transported and remanded into the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility on charges of Murder II, Attempted Murder I, and Arson I. Adams was jailed at the facility and his bail was set at $500,000.

The Alaska Bureau of Investigation is continuing to look into the incident.

The injured man is reported to be in stable condition.
