Troopers responded to mile 112 of the Seward Highway and located the vehicle. As they attempted to stop the vehicle, it sped away in excess of 100 mph. For over 20 miles, troopers gave chase and eventually stopped the vehicle at mile 91.5 of the highway. Troopers contacted the driver and identified her as 32-year-old Wasilla resident Rebecca A. Alcock.
Troopers reported that Alcock “displayed signs that she was impaired and under the influence of a controlled substance.” She was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance.
Further investigation would find that Alcock’s license was currently revoked and she was required to have an ignition interlock device installed in the vehicle, which it was not. She was also found to have an active warrant for her arrest on a previous charge of Failure to Appear on DWLR.
Alcock was arrested on the warrant as well as Failure to Yield I, MICS IV, DUI (drugs), DWLR, and Violation of License Limitations.
Alcock was transported to the Girdwood Trooper Post, but was then further transported to Providence Hospital by EMS.
Once released from the hospital, Alcock was remanded to the Anchorage Jail on charges.
