Tongass Traffic Stop Nets Utah Fugitive from Justice

trooperarrestAlaska State Troopers made a fugitive from justice arrest as a result of a traffic stop in Southeast Alaska on Thursday according to the trooper dispatch.

At 7:18 om on Thursday, troopers conducted a traffic stop on a silver Dodge pickup at approximately mile 7 of the North Tongass Highway. When they did so, they contacted the driver of the vehicle and identified him as 26-year-old Jeremy Thompson.

An investigation of Thompson would find that Thompson was wanted in the state of Utah on an extraditable Felony Obstruction  of Justice warrant. When arrested on the extraditable warrant, a search of Thompson’s vehicle would reveal a backpack containing heroin and paraphernalia.

Charges for the drug misconduct offenses have been forwarded to the District Attorney’s office.

Thompson is being held at the Ketchikan Correctional Center on the Utah warrant with his bail set at $6,000.
