A Coffman Cove man suffered serious injuries on Prince of Wales during the early morning hours on Saturday while riding his ATV.

59-year-old Doug Wilhite lost control of his ATV according to troopers and crashed into an embankment and sustained serious injuries. Troopers received a call from Coffman Cove at 12:24 am reporting the crash.

Wilhit, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, was transported to a Seattle Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Wilhit’s next of kin were notified of the accident.
