The mayor of Alaska's largest city, Anchorage has filed his intent to run for state-wide office with APOC on Thursday.

Sullivan, who has been the mayor of Anchorage since 2009, is on his final term as mayor of Anchorage and says that he wants to keep his options open. SUllivan also served on the Anchorage Assembly from 1999 until 2008, serving the maximum three consecutive terms there before throwing his hat into the ring for the mayorship of the city.

He has not yet announced what office he will be vying for, whether it be the governorship, Lt. governor or if he is going to take a shot at the Senattor Begich’s U.S. Senate seat that comes up for a vote this next election cycle in 2014. According to Sullivan, it may be none of them.

Sullivan has also said that he is looking at some private sector positions as well.

Sullivan is the son of Anchorage’s longest-serving mayor, George Sullivan.
