Shoplifting Teens Shoot Eagle River Walmart Guards with BB Guns During Getaway

image08-10-2014 11.12.21Anchorage police report that they received a call from the the Eagle River Walmart stating that two of that stores’s Loss Prevention Security Guards had been shot with BB guns by multiple juveniles as they attempted to make away with hundreds of dollars of merchandise from the store.

According to the report, one of the guards was shot near his eye by one of the juveniles, That guard was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injury and released. Another guard was also struck by BB gun fire. He was treated at the scene for his injury.

The store’s security guards pursued the three juveniles out of the building after they left with a cart loaded with approximately $800 worth of merchandise. During the altercation, the guards were able to detain one of the juveniles, while the other two fled the scene.

During the police investigation, the other two juveniles were located and detained. All three of the juveniles, a 14-year-old and two 17-year-old teens were “taken into custody,” and later remanded to the McLaughlin Youth Center.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
