Three Juveniles Brought off Harbor Mountain by Sitka Mountain Rescue

Prior to going to the rescue, the Sitka Mountain Rescue team responded to the slopes of Harbor Mountain near Sitka in reference to a juvenile stranded after slipping near the Survival Shelter.

After contacting troopers a 5:10 pm and notifying them that they had been contacted about a juvenile who had slid down a steep, snowy slope and could neither ascend or descend, the team set out to the location.

SMR arrived with a high angle rope team and descended to the juvenile’s location and rescued him. Warm clothes, food and water was provided to the three juveniles, two aged 13 and one aged 15, before hiking them out of the field successfully at 10:55 pm.
