According to the LA Times, three Secret Service agents were sent home from Amsterdam for disciplinary reasons where they were prepping for President Obama's trip to the Netherlands.

Spokesman for the Secret Service confirmed that three agents were sent back to the United States but did not elaborate on the reasons why.

According to the Post, it is reported that one agent was found passed out in a hotel hallway on Sunday morning. Hotel staff reported the incident to U.S. authorities. The U.S. Embassy in that country reported the incident to agency director Julia Pierson. Pierson is currently traveling with the president on his European trip. Two other agents that were out the night before drinking with the agent, were also sent home.

Secret Service Spokesman Edwin Donovan stated that an investigation is underway and that the three agents are on administrative leave pending that investigation.

Secret Service agents, while on official trips are prohibited from drinking for 10 hours prior to going on duty.

It was two years ago, in April of 2012 that 10 agents were discharged after engaging in drinking and prostitutes while in Cartagena, Columbia during the Economic Summit taking place there.

New ethics codes were put in place after that incident. The former Director of the agency, Mark Sullivan, apologized for the conduct of those agents before being replaced by Pierson, who is the first female director of the agency.
