On late Monday afternoon, the Alaska State Troopers anounced that they were suspending their participation in the search for 21-year-old Brevig Mission man Clarence Ray Olanna. They will not pick up the search for Olanna unless new leads are uncovered or new information is received.

Olanna went missing one week ago today, he was last seen on July 15th at approximately 1 am in the morning. Searchers would, on Wednesday, find clothing on the beach that matched the clothing that Olanna was wearing when last seen.

The search for Olanna spanned several days, with participation from troopers as well as a National Guard Blackhawk helicopter that searched land and sea for a time on Thursday of last week.

Searchers mounted a search using boats as well as ATV and on foot and have searched relentlessly throughout the last seven days with the exception of one day that weather conditions barred boats from carrying on a water search.
