The AST Bureau of Highway Patrol-South Central Team, while out on patrol on Saturday evening, conducted a traffic stop on a Buick Sedan for moving and equipment violations on Johnson Road and Schultz Drive.
After they pulled the vehicle over, they contacted the driver of the vehicle, the driver, later identified as 30-year-old Terenty Reutov of Wasilla, provided troopers with a false name and date of birth. When asked, a passenger in the vehicle, identified as 42-year-old Wasilla resident Kimberly Yadon, also provided a false name for the driver of the vehicle.
Subsequently, troopers attempted to arrest Reutov, who resisted when they did so. In addition, Reutov punched the arresting officer in the chin and a half-mile foot pursuit took place in the woods and the surrounding neighborhood.
When Reutov was finally apprehended, it was found that he possessed a small amount of cocaine on his person. Reutov was also found to have five arrest warrants issued for his arrest.
Reutov was arrested on the five outstanding warrants as well as new charges of Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance IV, Assault IV, Resisting Arrest, and Providing False Information.
The passenger in the vehicle, Kimberly Yadon was arrested charges of Hindering Prosecution.
Both suspects were transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where they were remanded.
Reutov’s bail was set at $18,000 plus a Court Approved Third Party Custodian. Yadon’s bail was set at $750.
