Wasilla Woman Spends Thanksgiving Night in Jail for DUI with Child Aboard

DUI_Patrol_02A Wasilla woman spent Thanksgiving night in jail after a traffic stop near West Gail Drive in Wasilla according to the trooper dispatch.

Troopers reported that at 11:05 pm on Thursday night, they observed a “2009 GMC pickup engaged in reckless driving,” and subsequently performed a traffic stop on the vehicle.

After stopping the pickup, they contacted the driver and identified her as 28-year-old Wasilla resident, Karrilee Texeira. Their contact revealed that Texeira was driving under the influence of alcohol with a young child unsecured in the back seat.

As a result, Texeira was arrested and charged with DUI, Reckless Driving and Endangering the Welfare of a Child I. Troopers transported Texeira to Palmer, where she was remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility with her bail set at $1,500.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
