Four people involved in a single engine plane crash at mile 243.5 of the Dalton Highway were transported out of the area via a strip nearby after workers on a nearby bridge saw the plane go down and notified the Alyeska Pipeline Service Company at pump station 4.
The Pipeline Company sent medical personnel and other responders to the Atigun Pass area to assist the downed flyers before transporting them to an airstrip and an air ambulance service. The four passengers were transported to the hospital for further treatment of their injuries.
The company also notified the troopers of the incident at 1:45 pm Sunday.
Although troopers were notified and a wildlife trooper traveled to the scene, the quick response by the Alyeska company made the trooper response unnecessary.
The is no information as to the type of aircraft it was or whether it was a commercial or private plane on the NTSB site as of Monday morning.
