The ground search for Andrew Andrew, the elderly Kwethluk man who went missing early on January 9, has come to a close with the discovery of his body near the Kwethluk airport on Thursday.

Andrew disappeared after being seen at approximately 1:30 am on January 9th. A ground search for Andrew was initiated later that day. Andrew was known to have suffered from cognitive disabilities in connection with his age. Andrew was 67.

Andrew’s remains have been sent to the State Medical Examiner’s office in Anchorage for autopsy.

Troopers do not suspect foul play at this time.

Andrew’s next of kin has been notified.
