An anonymous tip assisted the Fairbanks police to locate the Fairbanks man who has been on the run for the last week and a half after stealing a firearm and shooting at several people on February 1st.

Fairbanks police have been seeking the whereabouts of 35-year-old Bryon Kozevnikoff since the February 1st incident and had asked the public for help in locating him. Charges of Assault III x4, Attempted Murder I, Weapons Misconduct III x3 and Theft II have been leveled at Kozevnikoff.

A tipster informed police of Kozevnikoff’s whereabouts after recognizing him from a police post on Facebook. Troopers responded to the South Cushman Street business where he was exiting the building and placed him under arrest.

The firearm stolen at the February 1 incident was not on Kozevnikoff at the time of his arrest on Sunday night. But, Kozevnikoff had a hammer, butter knife and pepper spray tucked into his waistband when taken into custody.

Additional charges are pending in the case.
