An early morning traffic stop by troopers patrolling Trapper Creek landed an Anchorage man in jail on several charges that included a Felony DUI on Friday morning.

Troopers pulled over a 2004 Chevy van near milepost 112 of the Parks Highway in Trapper Creek at five minutes after midnight on Friday morning for a moving violation.

Troopers found that 49-year-old Anthony Hoover was operating the van while under the influence of alcohol. Troopers also discovered that Hoover was driving with a revoked licence as well as under conditions of release that stipulated no alcohol consumption.

As troopers investigated Hoover’s criminal past further, they would find that Hover had been convicted of a Felony DUI within the past 10 years and so was subsequently charged with Felony DUI in this current case.

Hoover was transported to the Mat-Su Pretriall Facility in Palmer where he was remanded on charges of Felony DUI, DWLR, and Violating Conditions of Release. His bail was set at $5,000 and a Court Approved Third Party Custodian.

At arraignment, bail was set at $10,000 corporate/cash and a Court Approved Third Party Custodian.
