ANCHORAGE—Governor Bill Walker last night appointed Robert Mumford to the Board of Fish.
“I am pleased to announce Bob Mumford as my appointee to the Board of Fish,” Governor Walker said. “His vast range of experience in multiple fields—as a commercial pilot, hunting instructor and fish and game state trooper—has taken him all over the state.”
Mr. Mumford has lived and served in the communities of Palmer, Wasilla, Sand Point, Kodiak, Fairbanks, Coldfoot, Soldotna, Prudhoe Bay, Barrow, Tok and Tyonek. He is a retired fish and wildlife trooper. During his 20-year career with Alaska State Troopers, Mr. Mumford worked as a lieutenant in Anchorage and as a supervising sergeant on the Kenai peninsula. He worked for 18 years on sport and commercial fishing enforcement.
Mr. Mumford has also served as a member of the big game commercial services board and the board of game.
Mr. Mumford is a U.S. Air Force veteran who lives in Anchorage with his wife and son.
