A 72-year-old man had to be extricated from his vehicle following a crash at mile 90 of the Seward Highway on Sunday afternoon.
At 1:16 PM Sunday afternoon, Alaska State Troopers and the Girdwood Fire Department responded to the scene of a motor vehicle collision. Once there, the Girdwood Fire Department removed 72-year-old John Samuelson from his vehicle’s wreckage and transported him to Anchorage’s “Providence hospital for medical treatment of non-life-threatening injuries,” troopers reported.
The investigation at the scene would reveal that Samuelson had been attempting to turn his 2015 Subaru Outback left on the Seward Highway from the Alyeska Highway when he was impacted on the driver side by a northbound 2000 Ford Expedition.
All occupants reported wearing safety belts.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
