WACO, TEXAS-Naser Jason Abdo, the AWOL soldier arrested with bomb making supplies in his hotel room has been formally charged in a Waco, Texas courtroom this morning at 11am. He is charged with possession of an unregistered destructive device in an alleged plot to set off two bombs at a popular restaurant in Killeen, Texas.

He refused to stand at his hearing and. as he was being led off at the end of the hearing, shouted, ” Nidal Hasan Fort Hood 2009,” in reference to Army Major Nidal Hasan, the psychiatrist who is charged with the murder of 13 people on the Fort Hood Army Base in 2009. Hasan faces the death penalty if convicted.

He was arrested 3 miles from the main gate to Fort Hood. If convicted, he could face up to 10 years in prison and up to a $250,000 fine.
