The names of the two Anchorage Police officers that fired shots at a subject early Tuesday morning were released on Friday.

Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on 30th Avenue between Spenard and Arctic Boulevard around 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 20th. The officers believed the vehicle may have been involved in two robberies late Monday evening and early Tuesday morning. As they attempted the stop, the vehicle attempted to flee and began ramming several citizen and patrol vehicles. At this point, K9 Officers Lars Tulip and Scott Huston both discharged their duty weapons striking one man; he was transported to a local hospital and remains hospitalized for the injuries he sustained. Another man was injured during the ramming but was treated and released from a local hospital.

An arrest warrant has been issued for the arrest of Aaron Robert Woods, 31 of Anchorage. Woods is charged with two counts of first degree robbery with bail set at $50,000. Woods will be served with the arrest warrant once he is released from the hospital. The investigation into the robberies and shooting continues.
