VACCINATIONS – 59% of Alaskans age 5 and older have received at least their first vaccine dose.
54% of Alaskans 5 and older have been fully vaccinated. The higher the vaccination rate, the more protected community members are from COVID-19. See below for percentages of all fully vaccinated Alaskans ages 5 and older by region:

CASES – DHSS today announced two deaths of Alaska residents and 1,089 new people identified with COVID-19 in Alaska.
1,077 were residents of: Anchorage (248), Greater Wasilla Area (126), Fairbanks (75), Nome (61), Ketchikan (50), Bethel Census Area (44 in 13 communities), Greater Palmer Area (38), Nome Census Area (32 in 6 communities), Eagle River (30), Kotzebue (29), NW Arctic Borough (28 in 7 communities), North Pole (23), Kenai (22), Copper River Census Area (21 in 3 communities), Bethel (19), Chugiak (17), Homer (17), Houston/Big Lake Area (15), Soldotna (14), Wrangell (14), North Slope Borough (13 in 2 communities), Bristol Bay/ Lake and Peninsula combined (12 in 3 communities), Juneau (12), Utqiaġvik (11), Metlakatla (10), Petersburg (9), Delta Junction (8), Hooper Bay (7), Kusilvak Census Area (6 in 5 communities), Willow (6), Dillingham (5), Valdez (5), Cordova (4), Kodiak (4), Nikiski (4), Tok (4), Yukon-Koyukuk Census Area (4 in 4 communities), Dillingham Census Area (3 in 2 communities), Fairbanks North Star Borough (3), Kenai Peninsula Borough- North (3 in 2 communities), Kenai Peninsula Borough- South (3), Prince Of Wales-Hyder Census Area (3 in 2 communities), Sitka (3), Sterling (3), Aleutians East Borough (2), Mat-Su Borough (2), and one each in Anchor Point, Chevak, Haines, Hoonah-Angoon and Yakutat combined, and Seward.
12 nonresident cases were identified in:
- Anchorage: 5 with purposes under investigation
- Wasilla : 4 with purposes under investigation
- Seward: 1 with purpose under investigation
- Juneau: 1 with purpose under investigation
- Location under investigation: 1 with purpose under investigation
8 resident cases and one nonresident case were subtracted from the cases dashboard due to data verification procedures bringing the total number of Alaska resident cases to 140,904 and the total number of nonresident cases to 5,343.
HOSPITALIZATIONS & DEATHS – There have been a total of 2,904 resident hospitalizations and 803 resident deaths. Fifteen new resident hospitalizations and two Alaska resident deaths were reported. The two Alaska residents who died were:
- Female resident of Anchorage age 80+
- Female resident of Anchorage age 80+

There are currently 155 patients diagnosed with COVID-19 who are hospitalized and seven additional patients who are considered persons under investigation (PUI) for a total of 162 current COVID-related hospitalizations. Nineteen of these patients are on ventilators. The percentage of patients currently hospitalized with COVID-19 is 13.9%.
TESTING – A total of 3,439,610 tests have been conducted, with 36,004 tests conducted in the previous seven days. The average percentage of daily positive tests for the previous seven days is 6.92%.
ALERT LEVELS – The current statewide alert level – based on the reported number of cases per 100,000 people over the past 7 days – is high (red) at 386.6. For boroughs and census areas: 21 areas are at the high alert level (>100 cases), five areas are at the substantial alert level (50-99.99), no areas are at the moderate alert level (10-49.99) and two areas are at the low alert level (0-9.99).
