Several people have been wounded and one killed in a shooting incident outside New York City's Empire State Building, in which the apparent shooter was killed by police.

Law-enforcement sources said the shooting appears to have been the result of a workplace dispute, and was not connected to terrorism.
WNBC, the New York affiliate of the NBC television network, quoted an unnamed law-enforcement official as saying the gunman may have been an employee who was fired from his job inside the building on Thursday.
A witness told Fox 5 television that a woman next to her was shot in the hip and that the gunman was “shooting indiscriminately at people.”
At least eight people were hurt in the incident, but is unclear how many were shot. Others were reportedly injured in a stampede that followed the shooting.
CNN reported that an Empire State building guard chased the armed man and was joined by police, who shot and killed the suspect.
