LifeMed Alaska responded to the scene of an aircraft accident after a call went into MATCOM Public Safety Dispatch on Monday.

According to trooper reports, a caller reported an aircraft crash at 12:45 pm that took place on the Susitna River about one half mile southwest of the confluence with Montana Creek on Monday.
LifeMed transported the pilot, 22-year-old Tanner Hetz of Anchorage and passenger 20-year-old Petros Mariolis of Greece to the Mat-Su Regional Medical Center for treatment of their injuries.
The preliminary investigation at the scene found that Hetz was conducting practice maneuvers when he lost control of the 1958 Piper PA-22-160 and crashed into a sandbar on the river.
FAA and NTSB have been notified of the crash and are conducting investigations.
