The Alaska State Troopers report that a nine-year-old boy was fatally shot in Pilot Station with a .177 pellet gun during an arguement with another nine-year-old boy on Friday.

There is no information what the arguement was about and the troopers only identified the weapon as a high powered pellet gun. No arrests have been made in the case and the troopers report they are cunsulting with juvenile authorities in the case.
The troopers have not released the name of the young boy who shot the victim, by relatives released the name of the victim, he was fourth-grader Spencer Polty.
The incident occurred at about 1:45 pm on Friday. After another boy told the victims mother of the shooting, she responded to the scene. The young child was treansported by four-wheeler to the local clinic, but CPR efforts were unsuccessful.
Pilot Station has a current population of 583. The community is located on the northwest bank of the Yukon River 11 miles east of St. Marys.
