Alaska Wildlife Troopers are seeking information on the whereabouts of 50-year-old Michael Anthony Roberts, also known as Tony Roberts.
Roberts is wanted on a $50,000 arrest warrant charging him with contempt of court. He has absconded from his court appointed third party custodian.
Roberts is described as 5-feet-9 inches tall, and weighs 220 pounds. He has balding gray hair.
An alert was received on October 4th during the early morning hours that Roberts’ ankle monitor ordered by the court was tampered with. Officers responded to the residence of Roberts’ third-party custodian and found that the monitor had been ground off with a grinder and left in the back yard of the residence.

Roberts is facing seven charges that include guiding without a guiding license, flying without a pilot’s license, driving with a revoked license as well as other offenses.
Roberts was released from custody in February of this year, after being convicted of taking a moose on the same day as he was airborne. Roberts was also the subject of a long manhunt in 1999 when he fled from state troopers. That manhunt went on for weeks. Undercover officers had posed as hunting clients at that time and witnessed Roberts committing numerous serious wildlife offenses.
Troopers say Roberts has a long criminal history. Some of those past offenses are numerous wildlife and guiding offenses, DUI, Assault, Forgery, and Driving without a license.
Roberts is known to frequent the Big Lake and Wasilla area as well as Anchorage. He also spends time on the Yentna Susitna drainages and around Cordova and Yakutat. Although unlicensed, Roberts is a pilot.
The Alaska Wildlife Troopers are asking anyone with information concerning Roberts current whereabouts to contact their investigation Unit at (907) 352-5401.
