ANCHORAGE, Alaska – USDA-RD Alaska State Director Jim Nordlund yesterday announced that a $483,000 Public Television Digital Transition grant has been awarded to Capital Community Broadcasting, Inc. The funds come through the USDA-RD’s Rural Utilities Service and will be used for digital master control and production equipment to complete the digital transition for the station. The new equipment will be used to provide locally originated television services and programming.

“USDA and the Obama administration continue to work to ensure that rural residents have access to expanded educational, health care, business and social opportunities through robust broadband and telecommunication services,” Nordlund said. “These funds will help modernize communications service and delivery for rural Alaska’s businesses and residential customers.”
