Early saturday morning the identities of the 26 people who were killed yesterday at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut have been released. Twenty children between the ages of six and seven were fatally shot by gunman, Adam Lanza, along with six other adults.
It has been discovered that Adam Lanza, the 20-year-old man responsible for killing 26 people, the majority of them who were children, had forced himself into the Sandy Hook Elementary school.
According to Connecticut State Police Lt. J. Paul Vance, no one allowed Lanza into the school Friday morning.
Sandy Hook’s principal recently installed a new security system where the doors of the school were kept locked all day starting at 9:30 A.M. Officials, at first, believed that Lanza gained access to the school as there was a rumor that Lanza’s mother, Nancy Lanza, was a kindergarden teacher at Sandy Hook Elementary.
According to ABC News there is no record of Nancy Lanza working at the school. Adam Lanza in fact, forced his way into the school to commit his horrific massacre.

Authorities stated that before Lanza went to Sandy Hook Elementary he fatally shot his mother in her home then stole her car and drove to the school. At the school Lanza fatally shot 20 children, six adults, and then himself.
The identities of the deceased were released early morning December 15. Investigators knew the names of the deceased on Friday, but wished to hold off revealing to the media out of respect for the families affected, and until all immediate family members were notified.
It is still unknown as to why Lanza committed this crime. Investigators are currently trying to uncover his motives.
