North Korea issued a threat to its southern counterpart on Tuesday. It issued this newest in a seemingly unending stream of threats as a result of yesterday's rally in South Korea where images of North Korea's leaders were burned in effigy.

North Korea had the newest belligerent statement read on a state radio broadcast today. That statement, it said came from the “supreme authority” of that country’s army.
The north has promised “immediate action” and “sledgehammer blows” against South Korea unless apologies are forthcoming for the actions of the ralliers yesterday. The rally took place on the anniversary of North Korea’s founder, Kim Il Sung. Pyongyang said that it would refuse any more offers of talks until the south apologize for the “monsterous criminal act.”
KCNA published that “Our retaliatory action will start without any notice from now.”
