It was on Sunday afternoon, according to the Alaska State Trooper dispatch, that a trooper patrol and the Bureau of Highway Patrol responded to a call of a man slumped over the steering wheel of his car.
On Sunday at 3:15 pm, when troopers and patrol responded to the scene on Maud road in Palmer, they contacted 28-year-old Wasilla resident Michael Jeffery Menage and determined that he had been driving while impaired by alcohol.

Further investigation at the scene revealed that Menage had several firearms in his possession at the time of his arrest.
When contacted, Menage failed to notify the troopers that he had firearms in his possession, two of which were concealed in his waistband. He had been shooting in the area prior to his contact witth the troopers on Sunday afternoon.
Troopers arrested Menage for DUI, four counts of Misconduct Involving Weapons IV and four counts of Misconduct Involving Weapons V.
Menage was transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial facility where he was remanded into custody without bail. He was arraigned in Palmer Court on Monday.
