After a Homer man did not return home after an ATV ride, an impromtu search was made.

One of the searchers would find the deceased Homer resident on a biking trail 18 miles out of Homer on Wednesday. It was discovered that 53-year-old Ray Garrity had flipped his four-wheeler in unknown circumstances while out riding.

Kachemak Emergency Services determined that Garrity died at the scene,

Garrity’s remains are being transported to the State medical Examiner’s office in Anchorage for autopsy.

Garrity;s next of kin have been notified.
