Troopers responded to the scene and found that the disturbance call arose over juveniles driving a Toyota Four-Runner on private property.

Further investigation into the incident would find that 78-year-old Soldotna resident Edwin Saltz chased the vehicle down the side of Kalifornsky Beach Road. Once catching up to the juvenile-driven Toyota, Saltz then purposefully rammed into the Four-Runner with his 1995 GMC truck in order to stop them.
After ramming the vehicle, Saltz exited his truck and approached the vehicle. Once there, he pulled the hair of one of the juveniles in the Toyota.
Troopers determined that Saltz ramming the Toyota put the three juveniles in fear of imminent serious physical injury and the collision did $500 worth of damage.
Saltz was charged with Assault III x3, Criminal Misconduct III, all of which are Felony charges, and Assault IV, a misdemeanor. He was transported to the Wildwood Pretrial Facility in Kenai and remanded there without incident.
Saltz appeared in court for arraignment on Tuesday.
